OK, new path. Forget 340. Cuda gets 360
I got myself a set of 340 X heads to add to my 318, after some suggested it could be done.
Well, after talking with a guy who has built so many old mopar engines over the last 30 years for both street and strip, and he thought I was being foolish. I asked him what his adivice was. He said, don't mess around. Just get a Hemi. I said, can't afford it. He said: Well your next best bet is to go big small block with a 360, and take full advantage of those 2.02" valves in the X heads. The 318 would not take full advantage of the big valves, no matter what I did to it. The big bore and stroke of the 360 would really wake up with big torque numbers. I think he is right. I want easy torque (around 400) and cheap hp (around 350). I can get there much cheaper with bigger displacement (360 punched out 0.040") and medium cams. Any thoughts out there? Any similar experiences. |
360's suck!, sorry i my self dont like them. id perfer a 340 over a 360, but thats just me and my opinon, no one agrees with me, "no replacement for displacment" that statement is true with faults.

doesn't the 360 have the same bore as the 340?
