changed thermostat to 180, changed hoses, added elec fans, both come on at pre set 190*, changed out OLD water pump to a hi flow water pump, installed new water temp guage....: thermostat opens at 180, fans kick on at 190. BUT i cant go for very long in town, seems still gets too hot ( 210 + ) and still spews... found rear freeze plug under starter now has a leak...

Any thoughts out there...? I have a 22" 4-row alum rad, 2 10" fans

Should have put the 26" rad in when you put the aluminum rad in !!! IT gets HOT in Lancaster.. Do you have the fan shroud installed ??

fans preset to come on at 190*, have 180 TS and it opens at 180, then both fans kick on at 190 fans . I cant go anymore distance than a few miles out in town and back

yes flushed the sys, i had to take to shop to replace a freeze plug that started to leak

Where do you have the timing set to? The timing being too retarded/late will cause overheating!

All great points....Also have it tested for a head gasket problem...

Are You under driving the water pump ? -- The crank pulley should be larger than the water pump pulley to cool properly. -- Just another thought.
