i found this film 1955 the first NHRA nationals greatbend ks. i was there. and the next year but that was AHRA. at 55 sec in you will see a dragster that has two engines one in front of driver, one behind the rear wheel, its hard to see so look close. it was called the bustle bomb. i may have posted this before if so for give me. iam a bit if a auto history buff. so forgive me.

OK there is something that happens when you get old but i cant remember what it is.

I noticed that Howards Cams was lettered on the side of the Bustle Bomb. I wonder if maybe the Bomb was the predessor to the "Twin Bear" twin engine dragster that ran in the early 1960s.Not sure if it was owned by Howards or sponsered by Howards.

i do remember seeing a dragster called the fright train. two engine chevys blowers. in the mid to late 60s. saw it Tulsa for years. i do remember the Howards name. but my brain hasnt brought out the "Twin Bear" name yet.

Peters "Fright Train" is out here on the West Coast. That Dragster resides about 15 Min. From me. Pasadena Cal.

Lloyd Scott's Bustle Bomb was run in the 50's.
The Twin Bears Digger.... Driven by Glen Ward and then Jack Christman came in new and improved in 1960
Howard was a big hitter with the races back in the day as we all know....

was Lloyd Scott's Bustle Bomb from so-cal? i all so remember one that had a hemi behind a small block chevy. both with blowers. the only thing that was the same was cyl bore, 4.0. and no one could figure out how it was done. one time in Tulsa i talked to he guy with it. and ask how he got it to work. he said "well those engines are not picky. but the throttle setting is." i think it was a sad day when NHRA out lawed the two engine dragsters. gee i got to stop living in past.

The AA/G dragster your talking about Must be the "Odd Couple" Out of Kens Automotive. Driver was Art Le Bolist.... Back in the 60's.... OCIR "Orange County International Raceway" was it's home track. That track was My Home track also till it closed.
