Exclamation Well, Ok *Please all Read*

Okay, obviously no one gives crap about me. If you all want me to leave, I will. everytime I post, I always get flamed Only people who ACTUALLY support me is "SmellyHemi" and "TexasMoparMan". I thank them much.

All I ever tried to do was post a few pictures about my car, and i get crap about how my Dart isn't running 13's, where, as "440roadrunner" thinks it should run 13's. I'm sure it cold run 13's, but I'm a god damn 16 y/o kid. I don't have $6,000 + to rebuild a good engine like the rest of you guys.

So, basically what I'm getting to is, if you want me to leave, I will. I don't want to take any crap anymore. "Only 16 and already knows everything...." Yea....

Just, just tell me it, and I'll leave, and you'll never see my posts.

Thanks, nick

Whoa your not gunna like my previous reply to the other thread then.

Mate i'e been through this on other sites hell i even got booted from my fishing forum for speaking my mind & i still stand by what i said there same as here .

I really think 440roadrunner and yourself just got off on the wrong foot thats all . See you came here & stated how fast your car was & i think you asked for help which he (440) tried to give you or maybe he just wanted to help you go faster ( i cant remember exactly poor memory hehe) .Anyway what heppened was he gave you a heap of info , Yeah it was a sh8tload & maybe you thought he was thinking your dumb but i highly doubt that he was .

Anyway some of your comments did come across a bit rude but hey your 16 i can take that on board , but i come from a era when respect to your elders was paramount , something thats a bit lacking today .

Dude i realy hope you can take some of my comments on board too .

Yep i loooooove your car & am impressed with what you've accomplished & i honestly would hate to see you leave .

thanx for your thanx all i want to do is mix in & get to know a few peeps & one of the peeps i've spoken with is 440roadrunner so it's hard for me to see you 2 bicker .

So lets wipe the slate clean & start again hey.

I just would like to add something, which was sort of mentioned already, is that there is an age difference here, you can see from other posts that there are a few younger individuals posting on the site and then there are the ones who grew up with the cars. This can already cause some differences with respect and knowledge, also there are two types of people, the ones who restore and the ones who modify, and you are going to here their perspectives. Another thing is that the way you read a post may not be the way it was written, that has gotten me in trouble in the past.

I am not sure what your goal is and that may be why you think people are guiding you towards somewhere you may not want to go. I thought you wanted to go faster, but maybe thats just the way you introduced yourself. I think if you stick around you will learn some valuable time tested, and new found information and way of doing things. Its always nice to find someone interested in the Mopars.

I would fall into the "grew up with these cars" category. I think you have a really nice car there, and 340 or 383 doesn't matter to me, it is after all your car. I just think you should sit back and look at the big picture, take some of the older guys advice, and don't get in over your head. That 340 will get you into the 13's, probably at the same cost as building a 383. you just need to find the right combination of equipment and weight reduction. If having a big block dart is your goal, go for it, but again listen to the advice of the guys that have "been there, done that".

You need to calm down. Nobody here has flamed you. If I ever get mad enough to tell you off, youll know it.

I've spent a lot of hard miles behind the wheel of several mopars. Let me just fill you in.

My first was a '69 383 Roadrunner. I later put an Edelbrock, Holley 780, and headers on the car. A bearing failure in the A833 cost me some time and money.

My second was my '70 440 six pack. I learned a hell of a lot in that car, and put over 140,000 miles on it in the 8? years I owned it. I did manage to scatter the original engine, but the only failure in the drivetrain in that mileage was a broken 3-4 shift fork in the A833, as well as replaced bearings in the trans, and some U joints an brakes. The Dana was as built when I sold it.

Also, in that time, I owned a '64 Dodge 426, later to have a 440. That same engine went 11.8 in a 'Cuda body I later traded for. That was no where near the potential, because at the time I had to quit--out of the Navy--I was still having clutch problems with the car. Those 118's were run

AND READ THIS:

Launching in 2nd gear, and granny shifting without the clutch!!! That car would've been a good 1/2 sec faster if I'd gotten the clutch problems rung out.

The '70 later got a 340 installed during the '72 gas crunch, and that 340 later went into my old Landcruiser. Now THERE is a swap for you.

Here's another helpful factoid: That 340, stock except for headers, when in my '70 RR body, could STAY RIGHT WITH a stock 383 RR or Bee. It got better mileage, was lighter, and cornered better.

You need to calm down and learn a few things. On one hand you cannot tell me anything at all about what your distributor advance is doing or even where the timing is set, and how you don't want to "run too fast" and the next thing you come on here and claim to be an expert in swapping big blocks into Darts.

Calm down. Take a breath. You might actually learn something, and I actually might remember something I used to know.

I never said I was an "expert on swapping a big block into a Dart". I said I have done it. It's a hell of a fight to do it, but it's fairly possible, even easier w/ fenderwell headers.

Forgive me if I came across as an a-hole. I'll just sit back and read what you guys have to say for a while before I make another post.

Older Dodge Darts Are Kool

I hope your car is coming along, my buddy had a new Dodge Dart in 1966. 273 powerpack engine with 4 speed and bench hurst shifter.

Just added slicks and fender well headers and cutouts to go to the weekend drags.

It's not that you guys are getting older that keeps us in our rice rockets and away from classic power...

It's the fact that we can get Hondas to run 13's under $6,000.00 including the price of the car, whereas even finding a running 60's-70's Mopar with a decent body alone will bring us close to $6,000...

Factor in an economic recession, the price of gas being 4+ bucks a gallon, and even just a few hot parts for said Mopar bringing the price up a grand or so with each few pieces, and you see where I'm coming from.

Hondas are a dime a dozen, and parts are equally as cheap... It's easy (price-wise) to get 400hp out of a little Honda 1.6 DOHC I4... Though, the older Mopar engines are 1,000 times easier to work on...

Blue 68: I used to be in the same boat you were. Just sit back and enjoy the knowledge these old codgers can give you. They've got decades worth of experience and knowledge, and just them being on this board tells you that they'd like to share said knowledge with us punk kids.

74 chargerse is right, that's good you're into mopars and not rice burner. I truely hate rice burners and all rice burners are good for is NOT A DAMN THING. I dare a rice burner to line beside my dakota, I would make him not hear for a week and then blow is doors off when the light turned green. Be for I forget it's MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!

like some people said, sit back and enjoy their knowledge, I am a 16 year old kid, when I ask for help with anything, i don't tell them "i know that" or anything, I try to play pretty dumb even if i already knew what they were talking about, im glad i can find other kids in my generation who like mopar, when i go to school, all i see are little Honda Civics with their retarded single 6in exhaust pipe sticking out the side, and i just want to crush them, + i got into mopars cuz not many people here are into them, the only ones that are...are the rich folks...hopefully when im done with my roadrunner...it will stomp all over those little ricers

BTW I hate it how all those people who get an exhaust on their little hondas and shit...automatically think they can race anyone and win just cuz their car sounds like a bubble bee getting raped
