all cars are worth restoring if you like them but as to put a price on one it would be up to that person on what the car is worth to him -- if your looking to restore it since it was your dads then im sure its the case as there is no price to hi on it- well not a million :) but if its got a value and pride to it then yes its worth it ( to me ) check out ebay and see what they are going for and it will give you an idea if your looking to fix and sell

well what i mean is like if i was to restore it should i keep the 318 or go bigger like do you think the cars are worth any thing if matching # or like either way if i restore it ill drive. i just want to know if i would be a bad idea taking out the original 318 and say throw a 340/360/383/or even 440 i mean i love the car he had it since 81 and he doesnt really care what goes on with it if it was to him get rid of it. so any input will be greatly appreciated

always go bigger with the motor in my book as the value is only value when the people out there want something stock but with your car it would get a better price to me if you say had a 340 or 440 in it or even a 360

thanks for the input ill let you know what we decide when we do ..........i am at the moment finishing my 72 plymouth satellite lil odd and end thing then i moving on to my 72 duster witch we are turning into a drag car so i might be a while

i agree with chally

check ebay for the usual going price
and with the motor, bigger is always better, but it depends on what you want to do with the car

just have a quick cursing car i mean like a said earlier i have a 72 satellite 440 60 overed and the duster is going to be a drag car and the mirada was my dads and my brother drove it a bit now it just sits and i hate seeing older cars sit there and be useless i mean i have a 440 block and a 400 block and every thing you need i was not so much doing it for me. it is more for my DAD he has helped me so much on my car and i just think it would be a nice thing to go cruse with him......so the 318 just wont cut it so let me know what you think a good motor selection and every thing
thanks mapor nate

heres me, small block keep it 318 or 340, 318s can be built! (i dont like 360s just there heads) if i was to go big block for cruising go 400, the only reason 400s got a bad rap is cuz they were all smoged, but they are a strong street engine, ill trade 4 360s for one 340!!! any takers?

My 20 cents, Iam fixin' up a 400 for my Polara.

Sounds like you've got some projects going on. Chally, 67 and 66 are all right. Look on E-bay and craigslist for going prices. 1 Bad Mirada has a built up 83 Mirada (look in the Member Rides section). Ther is a lot you can do. I would think that a well built 340 would be great.

One thing I dissagree on with 66 is the 360. Yes I would love to have a 340 over a 360, but a good set of alum heads can really wake up those motors. Just my opinion.

I think its great to see that you are doing something for your father. I was looking around for a 72 duster for my father as that was his little pride and job when he was my age. A restoration project with a father and son is always a good time.

But really sit down and think about what you want to do with the Mirada as that will save you time and money in the long run.
