1968 PLYMOUTH FURY CONVERTABLE BLACK

3 Attachment(s)
This is my newly completed 1968 Plymouth Fury. I bought it as a veritable barn find in March of this year. It has about 75k on the odo and was in pretty good order when I got it.
I awakened the Plymouth from an 18 year slumber with the original intentions of simply a quick "blowover" for the paint and some shiny wheels.
As you can see, the car got some shiny wheels but they are 20's and I have given the car a little rake with some lowering at the front and some bigger than usually fitted to 20 inch wheels tires.
The paint was anything but quick as I was able to convince a friend, who is a very talented local motorcycle painter, to work some magic on the panels. He likened working on the Plymouth to custom painting a tennis court as compared to his usual diet of painting motorcycle tins, it's painting on an industrial scale. The "real" style flames may not be everyone's taste but they sure liven up a large slabby car and are a real work of art.
The drivetrain is stock with a numbers matching 318 and TF in place. I replaced the tired 2bbl with a 390 Holley and Edelbrock 4bbl intake.
The Plymouth just got its inspection and taxation tags this week so I'm hoping to do some December top down cruising this weekend (!)

Thanks for the nice words, gents.
Bigsho, you can have whatever parts you need from my Plymouth ..........it's only a matter of price...............!!!

You might find a better deal on Ebay (US) as I looked on Sunday and there were a load of parts available and several 68 Fury's being broken -including a convert.

Its like you turnes something so unpopular and cool into something very cool, kinda like the "munsters mobile" from a coffin to a bad ass street rod!
