318 carb upgrade

I'm looking for advice with an upcoming purchase. I am running a stock 318 in my 68 pickup and I want to put a new carb on it , as i have major vac leaks with the stock carter. I put an electric distrib and would like to upgrade the carb without getting too aggressive. what would be a good aftermarket unit to go with?

500 edelbrock would be the easiest. Any way they work good right out if the box and can handle the new fuels with the alchohol. Might be a bit rich on the idle circuit but nothing to objectionable. Two flavors; AFB style and AVS style. I kinda like the AVS style but its probably 50/50 as other opimions go.
