Does enyone know how to install the flywheel on a 360 (auto trans)? I have a longblock that I'm about to put in my charger and im not sure how to put the flywheel on so i dont throw the balance way off.

Hey, i just found what you are lookin for in the mopar performance parts chassis book 9th edition, it tells precisely where to drill the holes on a non-externally balanced flywheel to make it suit a 360, only problem is in the text it reads 'drill 1/2" holes' and in the diagram it reads 'drill 1 13/64" holes' to a depth of .66".
Big difference there so i am not too keen to try. wonder if anyone can help with this (come on fans, check out the engine side of your flywheel for us and postup which hole size you think it might be). |

What I did to get the balance on my flywheel is I found a old style cone type
wheel balancer and placed the fly wheel on it. It was a little off so I added thin weld beads just in side the outter ring. It works pretty good for 40,000 miles so far on my 1970 dodger truck. ![]() |
