383 INTAKE PLATE

Can anyone help me out and tell me where the flat plate (with the quarter on top of it) in the attached picture belongs when installing the intake manifold on a 1967 383? I believe that it goes in the back. Also, does anyone know what the purpose of this plate is? Thanks -

I goes on the front I think. The purpose is to hold some insulation from sliding back.
