AC Compressor Size?

Does anyone know how many cc's an older piston type AC compressor is? Such as one off of a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker?

Thanks

I know mine took (4) 12oz. cans of refrigerant....if that helps at all.

Well, I was just wondering if anyone knew the size of the actual compressor (cubic centimeters (cc)).

Vehicle designers typically will note the total ac system oil requirement on a vehicle or compressor sticker or in a manual, and measured in fluid ounces or cc’s. Too little oil will cause a ac compressor replacement to lock up while too much oil will coat the evaporator and condenser walls reducing heat transfer.

Are you converting to R134a ? do you have a vacuum pump & gauges Unless you have the proper gauges ? Have some one do it. Fill amount is critical with the conversion. You may need to remove the AC dash vacuum switch and reseal it. They were good for vacuum leaks
