Exhaust Manifolds or shorty headers
I am trying to gain some ground clearance in my '68 satellite. It has a set of hedman full length headers on it now that just about drag, my question is: Is there any year manifold besides 68 and 69 stuff that will bolt up to this 318, that flow and look good without modifying a bunch to make them work, or do they make a set of shorty hearders that you can retain the original starter instead of having to also buy a mini starter? I have also seen the mini starters on E-bay for about a quarter of the price, has anyone tried one and had any luck, just in case I go that route?
Thanks, J Dog |

hey j dog
you could use 340 exhaust manifolds they flow pretty good but there kinda a pain in the butt getting them to seal on the small port 318 head you would have to modify the gasket to make them seal better, or how about adjusting the ride height of your car up some to give you more clearance with the headers you have |
