intake problem

Anyone else here running a weiand action plus intake on their 318 or 360? do you have a problem with it sitting on the block? I got mine all bolted in and went to put coolant in and next thing I know I've got coolant pissing out of the driver's side front intake gasket area.

i did not put RTV around the coolant ports. i never had to in the past but its probably something i should do on this. the intake is brand new that i bought from a shop that i've been dealing with for years.

i'll defer to doc, lol. if the heads are milled, does the intake have to be milled to match the angles?

The heads were replaced with the block as a long block assembly but a local engine shop about 6-7 years ago. they have not been milled.

yes, if the heads are milled then the intake should be milled to match. i'm wondering if i need/should have the heads and intake milled to match. it would be a pain to deal with right now though.

THIS was my point in asking you about the history of the heads ... it sound like you have a mis-match here. Try some RTV around the coolant passages and if you don't have any vacuum leaks ..don't worry about it.
