lockup or non-lockup

As some of you know, I have a 78 D200. It has a 318 V8, 727 tranny, and a FF D60 rear axle with 4.10 gears..

I am wondering if the tranny is a lockup or non-lockup? I know how to tell if I pull it out but I did not want to have to go through all of that. Is there any other way to tell? I could do it when driving it and feel how many times it shifts but the truck is parked for the time being.

The reason I am asking is because I am thinking about installing a B&M shift kit designed for RV/towing since I'm goin to use it to tow my j10 with. While I'm not driving it and have to drop the pan, I figured I could install the shift kit. Also the tranny shifts fine, there is no delay or slippage, or hard shifting.

mopar has a long history of lock-up problems. i'd avoid it if you're going to change things. i'm don't remember if the front pups are different. you could always try what you have and see how it goes since it working ok now.

I'd rather have a non-lockup tranny but I need to know what is in it now from the factory, either lockup or non-lockup.

I think you might have misunderstood what I was saying.
