Magnum oil pan for LA 360

I was wondering if anyone has swapped a magnum oil pan onto a LA 360, I have read, putting a LA 360 on the newer 5.2 and 5.9 magnums, you just have to use the pan gasket that goes with the pan. Has anyone attempted this.

Not I. Why would you want to do that?

might depend on availability.
also; the discrepancy between 318 and 360 pans "went away" with the Magnum series of engine coming out; they are both the same (and the same as the older 360)
I am putting a 318 Mag into my Volare, and had to get a 360 LA "car" pan.

So i can use the one piece oil pan seal, That comes on the magnum engines.

I think you can do that . I read the Frank Adkins book and I cant remember exactly but I seem to remember something about using the magnum gasket with some minor mods. I dont have the book handy right now. i do know the oil pan will fit right on.

I have heard you can swap them if you use the proper gasket, and a one piece rubber gasket would be worth it to me.

It won't work. The magnum and LA blocks are not the same.
I learned this the hard way.
There are a bunch of other things that didn't directly swap when going from LA to magnum block in a 70's car....
But for SURE they are not interchangable.

then how did they put the "crate" motors into a car??? The newer versions are based on the Magnum. this is the 1st I have heard that it "won't" work.
