I am currently installing a 318 into a 1985 4wd Toyota pickup. I acquired the bell housing ring gear and tranny from a local junkyard and bought the starter from summit racing. The ring gear has 130 teeth and uses a 10.5" clutch. The tranny is out of a mid 70's truck. my problem is that the starter gear is to far away from the ring gear to engage it. I'm unsure of what the flywheel and bell housing are off of. Everything bolted together nicely. The engine is a 1978. The link to the starter is here
