timing on 73 - 360

timing on 73 - 360

i want to check and maybe add a little timing on my 360, i have a digital timing light, do i just undo and plug vacuum line and point light at damper pulley and loosen dist to get what i want, i have pertronix ignitor ignition and flame thrower coil, i would like to get to 28* should my pulley have timing marks to where i can get it to 28*? thanks

With a stock distributor Set the idle timing at 10 deg before and you should be very close
36 total advance with out the vacuum
