Wheel rims

I live up in the snowbelt and am looking for a set of rims to replace the 19x7.5 ones on an '05 Pacifica as the original tires suck in the snow. I found a set of steel rims from an '05 Magnum 17x7 on the web. My understanding the critical measurement is the offset - the distance from the lugs to the outer rim on the backside (opposite the valve stem). The 19in rims have an offset of 6.25in while the 17in have a 5.125in. Does any one know if these rims will work for snowtires?
