Mopar makes 2 different distributors a 2 wier and a 4 wire. what is happening is it is starting on the start pickup coil and as soon as you let off the key it wants to switch over to the run pick up and dies. It either is a bad pickup or it is not plugged in.

start mode wiring and run wiring

check the wiring and make sure you have everything wired correctly. the start mode has its own ignition circut. it maybe the ignition switch.
