Slant 225

I am looking at picking up a 71' Plymouth Duster. It is rust free and has original paint. It is in stellar condition and the price is right. I would like to eventually like to throw in a 340. Will a 340 fit on the same frame that the slant 225 is sitting on in the 71 duster? Obviously I will have to get different engine mounts, but will the 340 be able to sit on the frame? When I talked to the owner of the car, he stated that I would have to change the frame out to accomodate the 340. Is that true?

That would mean I would have to unbolt the body off of the frame and then swtich everything over to the new frame?

with the A body conversion kit, all I would have to do is bolt that on to the frame and then basically drop the 340 in? ( I know i am oversimplyfing things, but in essence is that all I would have to do)?

Can't tell you how the kits work, every V-8 conversion I ever did was done with a K-frame swap. It's not that difficult, the thing is basically only held in with 4 bolts.

The duster i am looking at is a 1971 duster hemi orange with 2 white pin stripes numbers matching an has original paint. It also has the build slip. Is that a good deal for 2900?

All in all how much would I have into it if I dropped a 340 into it?

You need to change the trans too ! As far as a 340 ? I would be cheaper to get a 360 motor. It's an afternoon project to change the K frame esp with the motor out..
