Question A833 identification!

Hi guys,

* *can anybody help me to identify my A833 OD i bought in Germany a few days ago?

Here is the picture of casting on main case. I saw on internet that it should be PP833 and after that 4 digits that represent year, but mine is not like that as you can see. Is this maybe 11.04.1986. if there were A833 that year?

Thanks in advance.

I don't pay much attention to numbers because that is the CASE, "one piece." anything else could have happened to the rest of it

The masking tape says "OD," is it? Or is it a 4 speed?

To find that out, get the box into neutral, l then rotate the front shift shaft clockwise. This puts the gearbox into 3rd gear (4 speed) or overdrive if it's an OD gear set

Then turn the front shaft 1 turn exactly while watching the tailshaft. Less than 1 turn at the tail means "straight" 4 speed, more than one turn means OD

WHAT are you intending to install it in? It has the 70/ later B and E body long shaft. This fits everything except A body, including trucks and vans. This is not what you want for an A body.

I just got the answer from Brewer's Performance:

It appears from the date 11-4-86 it would have been in a 1987 model year Dodge truck or van.

This is for my Dodge Charger 1973.
