68 Imperial Power Steering Hose

Hi folks. Not sure if I am posting this on the right category.

I am trying to replace my high pressure P/S hose. The new hose I got on the steering box side has a 1/4 flare female fitting. But the fitting on the steering box is 5/16s. I tried to find a transition fitting, but that did not work. Hardware stores did not have it, and even Jegs did not have it. I took the fitting off the steering box hoping to replace it with a 1/4 flare male. I was hoping that the other side would be some simple NPT. But it was not. The diameter of the threads are just under 1/2 inch, and the threads look like standard fine pitch bolt, may be 1/2-28. And there was a copper washer to seal it.

Any ideas what type of fitting that is, and where can I get a fitting with 1/4 flare?

Thanks

I have two of these cars. The pumps are identical to both of them. I think it is the correct pump for that year, the 68. The hose, however, would fit on the other car. Somebody must have changed the fitting on the steering box on the car I am working on.

I found these folks.

I doubt this is what I need though, I need the 1/4". At any rate, I am a bit confused with this website, and I will call them tomorrow. But may be you guys have more ideas.
