why was teh idler arm redesigned?
the idler arm on my 67 valiant went south on me. and while i was at work i happened to look up an idler arm for a 68 valiant and it's totally different. and so is the 66 model. was the k frame redesigned as well or can i use the a 68 idler in place of the 67 idler with out any issues?

67 A body was a "one year" deal. You can add an ear to the 67 K frame and use a 68-72 idler. 73 and later was different again as they reversed the centerlink stud All the idlers from 68 onwards used a "through" bolt and nut, where the 67 was stud mounted. All idlers from 68 onwards will fit the 68 and later K member. Again, the difference between the 68--72 group and the 72 / later group is the "up or down" of the stud on the centerlink.
There's a lot of good info and Moog part numbers on the tech pages at BigBlockDart.com
I'm not sure how to go about modding your K member without a sample to get dimensions off of.
