How to wire the cigarette lighter 72 duster

Hi,

I recently took out my instrument cluster panel to replace some bulbs when I noticed that inside my dashboard there are two wires for the cigarette lighter just dangling and not plugged into anything. Can someone please tell me how I can get my cigarette lighter plugged in? And what connector do I need to buy to convert the two wires into one connector piece to plug into whatever its supposed to plug into?

Thanks,

One wire (usually red for hot all the time )is most likely for 12v+ and the other is for ground providing they both go to the socket. Best make sure that those wires are for that purpose. You need a wiring diagram with color codes. Your's isn't listed but a car of the same year will be the same. Chrysler maintained the same color codes for, like, ever. Go here:

Awesome thanks :). I researched a little more and managed to find 72 dart wire diagrams.

Appreciate the help,

That's because you posted the wrong page LOL

This is the start of the info pages

Far better than the aftermarket diagrams........which leave stuff out.......are the factory shop manuals...........

However, if you download this link, assuming you didn't, this is a rehash of the factory diagrams, and are much better and more complete
