MSD 6AL on Charger 440 engine
Hi guys,
I was wondering if I buy MSD ignition 6AL and distributor 8546 and connect as they (MSD) suggest, do I need to left Ignition Module and ballast resistor or not? As I see on MSD connection diagram, I need to connect 6AL on distributor and ignition coil, so what to do with current wires from Ignition module to distributor and ignition coil? I need to leave them or not? What about ballast resistor? http://s29.postimg.org/jiomkdqbn/image.gifhttp://s29.postimg.org/u82bcn24j/msdpic.png Thanks in advance. |
Just disconnect it and tie it up. just in case you ever want to go back to it.:)

Thanks, so I can remove Ignition Module and resistor, great info :)

i bought a MSD box it failed i a few mo. so i stay with the chrysler setup. easy to trouble shoot and fix. the only week spot is the ballast resistor. so just carry two extra in the glove box. they are weakest in cold or hot weather

Yes.... The O.E.M. Module and Resister Dose you no good with the 6AL
Only thing you can use is the Ignition keyed Hot fir the 6AL. All the rest you can just tuck away in some split loom. One other thing..... Dont forget to get a Blaster Coil to go with all that your installing... Just my 2 cents... |
Off course, I didn't mention that (MSD blaster coil) because it is not important for wiring question I asked :)
Thanks guys. |
Ok...... Just didn't want you get short on Juice....lol
