WTB 331cu water pump (FirePower)

i have seen where some guys mounted a chevy big block water pump. on a 392, the 331 might have the same pattern.on the block. but mods was needed. they swap out the whole water pump housing. two bolt hole fits as is. two bolt hole in the chrysler block has to be plugged, and a two new made. but i dont know the details. iam sure all pulleys will be mix and match thing. big job.

so its not like the water pumps in the 20s? and a real gland nut and packing. i have an OLD box of real asbestos rope packing. but dont ask me to find it. ill bet Bob is the only one that knows what iam talking about. after all bob IS OLD. LOL LOL

Moe.... I have worked on my share of model T's and A's. And them early Dodge Brother units....
I even rebuild my 360 water pumps if needed.... The only hard ones to do are the one's that are rusted all to shit. At that point you might just ruin the pulley and then your really hosed.. A little story. :) About 2 years ago, a dude brought me a pump for an old Essex's "If you know what that is" lol... he tried to press it off himself and F'ed up the pulley and then brought it to me to fix... I just chuckled and said.. Well lets see what happens... Long story short. I wound up not being able to fix his, but did find one out at an old resource I had... :) His was just welded and rusted to much, the shaft just crumbled away... Bottom line... Never give up... Just keep digging.... You will find one to get fixed... It's all about timing and resources..... |
i love that story. the only thing is those good stories dont all ways have a good out come. some of my stories are to embarrassing to post. but on th 331. i did find some pics of pump adapters for the 331. but cant find any company names.
