1965 Plymouth Barracuda Help Needed
I have a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda that I have recently restored. I put a 408 stroker in it with a 727 transmission and a 373 positive rear end. I'm looking to either change my transmission or add a gear vendor to obtain overdrive. Which would be the best option - a 4 speed automatic transmission or a gear vendor? If recommending an automatic transmission which one would you recommend?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions! |
Add the overdrive unit.... Just my 2 cents

I would agree with Bob - the Hono drive unit has been reintroduced and will withstand 1000 hp and 1000 lbs of torq - - the jeggs and tci tranys are just out of my price range - just my thoughts - Jaxx

Save your money , put a 3:55 gear in it.:)
|
2.73.... Run down the road at about 2600 rpm * 75-80mph>>>> :)

NOPE, 3:23 at the lowest........!!!!!!
3:55 and a tall tire..... the Best street combo .........!!!!!! with a big inch sb, its just tire smoke any how?......... smoke em!!! and have fun!!!! |
Gear vendors overdrive !! The 727/ 518 overdrive is much bulkier in the midsection and would require major mods to the cross member and trans tunnel
