6 cylinder tosion bars in v8

I just picked up some torsion bars for my demon and after i checked the were 6 cylinder ones but was told they should still work. How do i install them?

What do you mean? Like you've never installed torsion bars before and are looking for instructions? Or are you thinking they're different than 8 cyl torsion bars? They're no different other than diameter. If you're looking for instructions though, I suggest buying a factory service manual. I picked mine up from Year One, and it provides the best instructions you'll find. Get one, you'll never regret it.

You can download factory manuals for several years here

More yet and some of the same here

The bars will have numbers. If they are a proper pair, one will be even numbered and one will be odd. The odd number goes on the driver side. It does not matter which end

Do NOT scar them all up. That is, don't use pliers, vise grips etc to remove them. One way is to loosen the lower ball joints and strut rods and simply pry up "there" between the lower control arm and whatever part of the K member you can get a pry bar into, so that the LCA forces the bar out the rear. Don't forget to pull the retainer clip, LOL.

I'm not convinced the rubber seals are all that important, after all the LCA end is not sealed, and neither is the rear of the rear socket. "Grease the 'ell" out of em

Why are you putting slant bars in? You drag racing? Otherwise, slant bars are inadequate for ANY modern driving except cruisin' round town.

It was/is popular to use the 6 cyl bars for drag cars. Otherwise sell them to someone else

first iam NOT a suspension expert. but i have a 1967 dart / charger, factory service manual. i will list the bar diameters as a reff. Dart only. std sus 6 cyl...0.83"-----8 cyl std 0.85"-----heavy duty..0.87". in the old day racers would use 6 cyl bars so the front would lift faster. hope this helps.
