71 340 DUSTER

Hello all. new here. I have bought a 71 340 duster There is a funny large tube in the trunk by the fuel filler tube. looks like some sort of storage tube? does anybody know what that is? thanks

I dont have a picture but it looks like a storage tube approx 3 in around and 14 in long with a cap. it is mounted on the top of the left rear fender well. i have seen it in other pictures also. Thanks

Is it a former drag car? If so could be for BB's for additional weight ballast. Does is have a removable cap on it?

I would sure like to see a picture of that as i have had 1 71 and 2 72's and never had anything like that in my trunks
