anyone know of the size fan spacer needed for a flex fan?

Sorry for asking so many questions guys but i just ordered a 17inch flex fan summit racing brand to replace my clutch fan because its failing its free wheeling i think. anybody know the size required for a 318 application of a flex fan spacer?

You want to have the fan in the shroud but, not too close to the radiator.

So, you should take note of where your current fan sets, in relationship to the shroud, and buy the corresponding spacer.

Unfortunately, it'd going to be trial and error. Measure it like Silverick said, but ask the guy at the store if you can exchange it. Don't ask me how I know to do that ...

Generally you want the blades about 1/2 way into the shroud and AT LEAST 1" away from the radiator.

Be careful. Those flex fans come apart and do ALOT of damage. Don't rev it too high or keep it on too long.

Thanks guys for the help! my fan comes tomorrow hopefully, so i can mess with it, its not quite a flex fan but looks like one that is all steel heavy duty for trucks and rvs and cars to pull lots of air. good to know because i have a flex a lite race fan on my other classic car that is only a couple years old but has some miles on it ill keep an eye on it.
