Can someone post a enigine bay pic of a 318
Hey guys so i am goin through my Dart that has a rebuilt 318 and its missing apprently the PVC valve to the driver side valve cover, and its missing the line to the Vacuum advance to the distributor from the carb its a edelbrock 4barrel competition 625CFM carb. can someone post a complete 318 engine so i can see where these lines went to.
or maybe reccomend a site Thanks Alex |
Frankly, all you need is the destructions for an Edlebrock AFB. The PCV hose goes to the obvious, largest fitting sticking right out the front of the carb.
Here's the manual, right from Edelbrock's site: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...ers_manual.pdf Look at the figure down on page 21---the page no's marked in the document, not whatever your reader might say. You'll have three vacuum ports lined up, when facing the carb, small on left, large in middle, small on right Far left is "ported" or "timed" vacuum, to the distributor Middle is PCV (large) Far right is "full time" vacuum for accessories such as a vacuum operated AC control, etc |
Thanks man!

It'll be a driver, no fancy show car. I have a lot of work---snow is upon us, and now inside shop. I just junked out a 73 Duster for disc front brakes, and a larger 8 1/4 rear. I'm too lame, now, to row a 4 speed, so this means learning to rebuild a Torqueflite. But the point is----I just scored TWO really nice Edelbrocks and the "strip kit", so I'm hoping to continue the effort of running one of these AFB's. |
Nice dude!
thats the rear end i am goin to put in too, i have that tiny rear end it might snap after a while with what mods im goin to do to the motor |

If you look at my photo album you will see a pic of a 318 in my dart, had to get a PCV valve & grommet myself and hook it up. Would suggest you check the Edelbrock brochure online for the correct side of the carb to connect your vacuum advance as it depends on your application; smog stuff, etc...

Thanks man i actually figured it out, it now has the correct gromet size for the valve cover, it did take time like a wild goose chase
