Remember, a '66 Coronet might be a so called 440 BODY STYLE. That does not mean it actually has a 440 engine. I would think the Swinger has more potential. It's more sporty, lighter, and a 2 door.

I agree. I would go for the swinger, unless you want to haul the family around. plus it probably has the slant six which will run forever, and if you get tired of that a small block swap is pretty easy. plus it looks a lot sportier to me,

I think the best idea so far would be to just buy them both. Doesn't sound terribly expensive for either one and it is easier to decide which one you like the best after you own them. Then just sell the other one.

UPDATE
I called the guy and he said the swinger is crap. but the coronet sounds good. It has some rust in the guartser and in the fenders. He said the floor pands are good. It has a 318 about 73,000 orig. miles. He also has a big block available it.

The coronet is a good looking car 4 door or not. It is your own preference if you want to own it or not. You shouldn't consider it an "investment" though, you will probably put a lot more into it than you will ever get out of it.

i am not looking at it as an investment. I am looking at it as a car to cruise the town in and pick up chicks(not hookers). kind of hot rod it. I wont be a show car by any means.
