does anybody know the real value
Hey guys new guy here from Boise Idaho I have a 66 Dart Gt Convertible 273 2-bbl auto and 47,000 original miles I have been trying to get on this site to find out what my car is worth for awhile now and finnaly got on. Now I am the second owner of this car the original issue date on the title is 1966 I bought the car to rod it out but couldn't it is too perfect too cut up. so i had all the interior and top replaced and left it alone now it sits here wasting away I would like to put it in the hands of somebody who would appreciate it for what it is unlike myself who sees it for what it could be made into. The paint is not perfect the body has a couple battle scars ( dents and stuff ) But everythig is original the factory Dart all transistor radio even works it has the original key that came with the car and it's an Idaho car so it has ZERO rust. I had the car listed on craigslist for $14,000 had a couple bites but nobody had the money. I have asked people what they think the car is worth and the answers I get are what ever you can get for it or $1,000 more than what you sell it for what I am looking for is a real answer I looked on NADA classic they say low retail is $6,700 average retail is $14,700 and high retail is I think $24,000 I know this is not a $24,000 car here is a link to the craigs list ad with pics http://boise.craigslist.org/car/600879361.html If you have the chance take a look and tell me if I am priced right. Thank you in advance for any help

Just for information, I bought a 1966 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible a couple months ago. The car is real neat, red with black top and interior. Slant 6, AT and power top. Complete car with no damage. Should be a nice car to drive around this summer. The price guides indicate that this car has a lot of value similar to what you've mentioned.
These car are cool, why don't you use the Dart. You'll be noticed if you want attention. |

I do use the car but it's one of those cars that I am afraid to drive I don't want to damage it. To be perfectly honest it's not my kind of car I bought the car to put a big block in and rod out but I just can't do that to this car it is too complete and original I would rather let somebody have it that would appreciate it for what it is unlike myself I just think of what I could make it into. I am looking for a Challenger project car now to replace this Dart with 71,72 or 73 the not so popular ones so nobody thinks I'm a douche for cutting it up and making it what I want. I have owned this car for 2 years and I put about 200 miles on it and 90 of that was 3 round trips to the upholstery shop. So does anybody have an idea of what a realistic price for this car would be I was just guessing at the $14,000 I have it listed for. I will call the people Zach8200 recomended in the morning. Thank you guys for your help

Hey,
My current price guide shows 11,700 for the car and add 30% if you have the 275hp 273. Thats for a 66 Dart GT convert in condition 3, which is very good condition. A GOOD car, condition 4 is $5200.00 Hope this helps, |

273 V8
I believe the 273 with a 2 barrel was about 185hp. The high performance engine was the add 30% engine. At least that's the way I understand the price guide. The plymouth Valiant used the same engine as an option.
