Help with 68 Fender Plate...yea 68
I just bought a 68 Barracuda VIN Number BH23B8B37XXXX. Everything that I have read says that the Fender Plates didn't start until 1969. Below is a scan of my fender plate but it is almost unreadable. Above the plate is what the number and letters actually looks like.
Can someone tell me what the plate says? Is this actually a 68 plate? Can you tell if this plate goes with this car? Thanks in advance....I am new to the Barracuda and have not owned a Mopar since '74 when I had a 70 Road Runner.

Thanks for the reply, but, that link shows the '69 fender tag (i think) and mine looks nothing like that. There is good information there, I just don't see any of that coding on my tag.

Fender Tag
They did have fender tags in 68 also because I have a book in front of me from mopar that shows it. The build date, if I'm reading, right shows that it was built May 14(514).
This is what I am getting from the bottom row of your plate. Tell if this is correct about your car: BH- Barracuda 21- 225 6 cyl. 145hp 5- A904 or A727 transmission 21- 2dr sedan 514 - the above date for production The last numbers that are blurred out is the line number info. So in answer to your last question, I would tell you once more that it is for your car. I hope this info is helpful to you. I forgot to add this website that you can get some info from as well.
