My 68 Dodge Dart project
In the search for parts for my Duster, I came across a nice little 68 Dart that I can throw together with the parts I take off my Duster. It was a Craigslist ad that came with a complete 440
So, now I take the 340/727/8 3/4, including the K-Member. What would be cool is if I could just unbolt the front and rear end, lift the body off, and drop on the Dart I don't know for sure, but I'm even going to try and use the exhaust system. I don't know if the wheel base is going to be a factor, so we'll see what pans out.
Plans are:
340/727/8.75 rear
Late model bucket seats
New carpet
Well, all new interrior.
Paint and body...
All the usual suspects. I'm not sure what color I want to go with. It was originally a blue, but I am thinking of white with a black bumble bee stripe. I'm also thinking of trying to find a GT hood...kinda clone a GT...Dunno yet.

Great project. Everything should fit the same they are basically the same wheelbase. Most of the parts are interchangeable. I am happy to help any way that I can. I am doing a similar project myself. (see the other post in this forum) Also there is a long progress post on www.Crazy4Carz.Com in the froums under muscle cars. There are great people here on this site, I have been lurking in the shadows for a long time before I posted. Please keep posting pictures of your progress.

After a rather eventful evening of trying to get the car on the trailer with no ramps ( remind me to check that next time I borrow my dads trailer )I got the car home and off the trailer ( I got the ramps this time ) and she is in my garage. First order of business is to get the floor pans replaced. The passenger side front is gone... literally. So, new floor pans from Year One and I will be in business. I'm gonna try and do it myself ( uh-oh... ) Next up is the K-Member removal and swap in of the late A K-Frame/BBP Disc brakes from my Duster. Next, is the 8.75 rear. After I freshen up the 340/727, I'll drop that in. Seats from a Neon, and new carpet/int panels...and I will have a sweet little ride to take to the body shop for a Quarter replacement.
Attached are a couple shots of the rotted floor panels.

Take the Dart off the frame and put it on a Duster frame?
The wheel base is different.
As well as GT hood. No difference in a Post hood and a GT hood. GT and GTS hoods are the different ones. Just trying to help!
Did you pick that Post up in Everett? I almost bought that car as a new project for me...

Checking both Sherman and Associates, and Year One, Year one is $16 cheaper. That is NOT including any shipping and handling, so I haven't got that far yet. Just the floor pans, excluding the trunk pan, Sherman is $18 cheaper. Again, not including any shipping and handling. I am hopeful I can get them ordered in the next month. Then I can see some progress myself.

Where abouts in Washington do you live?
I'm about 10 miles south of Everett.
When I talked to the guy, he said the 440 wasn't included. I said it says the motor goes with the car in the ad, and theres even a picture. He said "hmm. guess my girlfriend wants to get rid of the engine too".

If you can make it to any car shows next year, make sure one is the Sunbust Show.
the Tacoma Unlimited Chapter puts it on every year usually during August some time. Great show.
