Oil leak fixx
 
My duster has an oil leak that is coming from a bolt that is right above the oil filter and I don't exactly know what I should do and what to make it stop leaking and also what all do I need for the car to pass emissions? The car currently does not have cats it's just header then dual flowmasters right after and I also don't have a pcv valve...Any ideass? :confused:

Can you get some sort of historic plates in AZ? In NJ I have my car registered as a historic vehicle and then there are no inspections. When I first got my car inspected it passed everything but in NJ you need to have cats, sometimes you can get around that depending on the year. If it was supposed to run on leaded gas it does not need cats, atleast thats what it is here.

Which bolt are you referring to on the pump? There are ones that hold the cover on and the others hold it to the block.

I have looked to see what years don't need to be emissioned and anything older than 67 doesn't need to be emissioned...I'll have to get more details about getting it registered as a historic vehicle...Well it is right next to the oil filter and the head is about an inch wide and also it is screwed directly into the block

with your car being a 74 ? right you wont need cats they didnt come that way from the factory cats didnt come out until late 75 on cars and 80 on trucks thats why dodge got away with the LRT trucks and other neat ones you should be fine on the cat problem as for your oil leak sounds like your oil filter adapter which angles the oil filter is leaking there is a gasket and if i remember right a o-ring that goes around the bolt they should carry the gaskets at any parts store if not go to a dodge dealer it'll be pricey but it will fix it all that bolt does is hold that piece yor oil filter attaches to all of your a-bodys had them

EF8340 is correct about the leak, there is a gasket on the adapter, and another one on the bolt just under the head. Replace BOTH gaskets and use a thread locker (Loc-tite) on the bolt or you will be doing this again in about 3 hours. (don't ask me how I know, just be happy that I do....)
