Opening the trunk on a 74 duster

Hey, I have an issue with my trunk because there is no locking mechanism on my trunk there is just a whole where it use to be and I do not know how to get my trunk open any ideas?

look inside the hole for a slot that looks like a flat screwdriver would fit. put a screwdriver in the slot and turn it. ta-da! it's open!

Ok, I have looked in there and I can't see anything and i've put a screwdriver to see if it would hit anything and there was nothing

Can you fit your finger in there and feel around, the mechanism could have slid.

it is about 4" beyond the hole. can someone take a picture for him?

I assume you have not used a flashlight, as I would think you would see something if it is 4" inside the trunk.

I'v looked in there with a light but it wasn't a flashlight...i'v tried poking a screwdriver in there but wasnt sure where to poke but that helps i'll keep trying

I got it! Finally! and I found brand new audi a4 led tail lights Looks like i'll be going on a little shopping spree!! haha Thanks for the help!

I poked a screwdriver in there and just started going at it lol which worked now it's easy to open it although I have to slam it for it to shut
