Other Cuda VIN location?

Hi, I just got a '64 Barracuda, and am trying to see if the VIN on the title matches the car. The VIN plate inside the driver's door is missing. Is there a VIN anywhere else on the car? I found a plate under the hood, but it doesn't seem to have a VIN number on it. Thanks!

if ya don't mind me asking what plate was under the hood ?

Hi, it looks like codes for paint, trim etc :)

it should be on the drivers side under the hood

Hi, do you mean sitting on the inner fender? That's where I found the trim tag, but it doesn't have any VIN numbers on it :p

it should be right next to the engine
higher than the battery tray

Hi, on what part of the car?

oops

That was a link to the fender tag de-coder.

On my car (Dart) the vin number is on the dash, visible only from outside the car, lookin in thru the windsheild, just ahead of the driver.

The fender tag by the battery does not contain the VIN. Try removing the bottom of the rear seat to find the build sheet. I found mine 0n my 65 barracuda. I don't know if the vin is located anywhere else. In my state the local police will come to your house to verify a vin, I guess they have the info to find another place where it might be located. In the eary 60's theft was not a big problem. Later on, Chrysler put the VIN on a couple of places on the body like under the top lip of the Radiator support.

I just had to have the VIN on my '65 Barracuda verified. It is only located on the driver's door frame. They did not start using other locations until the '70s. They also did not use rivets until '66 which did not go over well with my inspector. He also insisted that he would find the VIN somewhere else but never did. For some reason they approved it without telling me how & I wasn't going to ask too many questions.

have you looked on the door?
