3 wire A518 Transmission
I bought a 518 4-speed automatic with the hopes of putting it in a current project vehicle, but after more detailed research the "project" is way more than I care to take on.
I'm in southern Arizona and the transmission was purchased from a shop in Mesa. They disassembled, checked it, and put new seals in it, but it has NOT been re-built and does NOT have a torque converter. Everything is in working order. Selling it As-Is and hope to re-coup my purchase price. $450.00 obo...

Thanks!

OD TRANSMISSION
I have one of these (46RE) in a 69 Valiant - 360/408 stroker with 3.91 gears. I shift to OD with a switch that's on the dash. When in OD my effective ratio is 2.7x and at 60 MPH with 255/60-15 tires I'm running at 2,200 RPM. That is great for a street car. -- I did not install this transmission, I bought the car with the trans in in. -- There's info about installation at -- www.transmissioncenter.net/dodge.htm -- somewhere on that site is installation info.

I have always been a huge Mopar and Jeep/AMC fan and I'm currently restoring a 91 Grand Wagoneer. The GW has a 727 3-speed and I was hoping to install this 518, BUT no one makes an adapter for it to bolt to my AMC 360 (because go figure its different from a Chrysler..). And, even if there was an adapter the longer transmission puts the transfer case into the gas tank. A guy on the Wagoneer forum pulled it off by cutting and re-welding the 727 bell housing onto it and putting in a Bronco gas tank, among about a 100 other mods to make it fit. But my skill level and jock strap size don't compare for that kind of undertaking.. Haha. I sure wish I had OD, but oh well. Your Valiant sounds like its set up perfect!
