1992 D150 sometimes starts sometimes won't

Most of the time it starts, but every once in awhile it won't. When it doesn't start, I can wait 30 minutes to an hour and then it will usually start. If I pour gas in the throttle body, it starts right up but dies as soon as it burns that gas. Any ideas?

Yep Put a gauge on it and check the fuel pressure... If Ok When it won't start check for spark ! Try holding the coil wire 1/4 away from the coil... If it starts ? Change the dist pickup!!

Okay, some new info. Shortly after my post, it quit starting altogether. It didn't matter if I let it sit for awhile. Still wouldn't start. I had some things going on so I didn't have time to mess with it except to hop in it once a week to see if it would start and it never would. I did pull the codes after I posted and got 12, 15, and 55. I ruled out 15 and 55. 12 says "direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 cycles (normal)". Anyone know what that means? Anyway, I tried starting it again today, and it wouldn't start. I poured gas in the throttle body. It started and ran rough until that gas was used up. I did that about five times; however, on the sixth try, it started up and ran great so it isn't completely dead yet. Anyone had these exact symptoms with a 92 5.2L? How difficult is it to change the fuel pump if that turns out to be the problem? Will I have to drop the gas tank? I hope not because it is full.

Can you hear the pump run? You might have to "get under there" and listen. Have someone turn the key on while you listen. The pump should run for at least a short time when key is turned on.

Power supply to pump......fuse .......poor connection.........pump relay.......or pump
