360-318 swap
I pulled a 360 from a 1976 W100. I am putting in a 318 LA. The only problem is the motor mounts. The 360 mounts don't fit to the frame as the block is shorter. Having a hard time locating any 318 mounts. Any suggestions?

you only need 318 mount for the body. should be left side that is diff. all so some / all 360s have a balance bobs on the converter. I.E. external balance. you might need to get a 318 converter. it should be internal balance in the engine and no weights on the 318 converter. you can cut and weld the bracket.

motor mounts
Thanks, the problem I am having is that the studs don't reach the holes on the cross member, they are about 1/2" back while it is married to the 727 tranny. Also, the drivers side is shorter so the engine, and ergo, the tranny is tweaked to one side. Any suggestions?

you need a truck oil pan to go into a truck body. a car oil pan might hit parts of the frame and hold it up, or side ways. but most 318 and 360 oil pans are different. the difference is at the rear bearing cap.

No problem with that. Oil pan is fine. Just can't figure out how to use the 360 motor mounts to set the 318. I'm a nubbes so this is all new to me.
