1969 Super Bee general questions

I'm looking at purchasing a 1969 Super Bee and have a few questions after my first look at it. The VIN starts with WM23 so this tells me it should be a Super Bee car. If it was a Coronet R/T made to be a Super Bee wouldn't the VIN be a WS?

Regarding the hood, it has a metal hood with the "6 Pack" scoop on it and it has hinges and springs. Was the fiberglass lift off "6 Pack" hood available in metal? Assuming the restorer cheaped out on the fiberglass hood and just slapped the scoop on a metal hood.

I also need to confirm that it has the Dana 60 rear end.

Thanks for the help and any other information that would assist me with buying the car tomorrow possibly.

The Vin will start with WM if its a superbee, coronet R/T will be WS, and the dana is pictured below, as for the hood -yes from factory they were fiberglass, but a steel hood with the scoop may not be a bad thing if it was done well-depends how exact you are planning to restore the car.

THanks for the info. So the car is a real Super Bee, however, the 440 is not the original motor. I need to check the motor markings and see what kind of motor it is. And the hood looks good, very nice work with the scoop, however, I think I will eventually swap in a Year One fiberglass hood.

I will have a 69 Super Bee fiberglass six pack hood available in a few weeks. It uses regular hinges and lighter springs...it is not a lift off hood. I am putting the stock metal hood back on the car I am buying.
