1970 plymouth satellite sedan won't drive

hey there,
1970 Plymouth satellite 4-door that I cannot get to drive. I dove it home 4 days ago 1 hour and a half drive. checked all fluids before and after, and nothing is out of wack. But when I went to start it wouldn't move in any gear, reverse, or any of the forward gears. I've checked the kick-down linkage and the gear lever moves as if going from the park through gears whether the car is on or off. but can't seem to figure out of my transmission is broken or if a connection is loose/faulty, or something I just don't know about these cars. Any and all help is appreciated even if its off subject as I'm new to the Mopar world and want to keep this on the road.

Just going over a few things...................
1. Kick down effects shifting not going into gear, so that's out.
2. Make sure the lever on the transmission is in place they do loosen up, tight and actually moving the shaft going into the trans/valve body.
3. Fluid must be checked in neutral not park.
4. Lastly, the front pump (only one on 1970s) may have gone bad but that usually burns out the clutches too.
I'd really focus on that shaft on the top or side of the tranny. It could look in place but may be just slipping. It's a half moon shape that fits on the shift lever.

Add a quart of transmission fluid and see if it makes a difference.
