1979 Dodge Magnum XE for sale
4 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,
I'm a full-time student doing an internship in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I have to go back to Germany in a few weeks to finish my study program and therefore have to sell my 79 Magnum. I had it as my daily driver to get to work everyday for the last couple months. I would love to take it with me, but I simply can't effort it. That's why I hope to find somebody who would take care of this rare ride. Here some facts: - 360 V8 with Edelbrock carb - auto trans, column shift - dual exhaust (really nice sound ) - sway bars - air shocks in the back - power steering, power brakes, a/c (which of course does not work), power windows - tires good (from 2009) - everything works, except a/c - interior needs to be rebuilt (especially front seats) - it's got some rust on the roof rear window corner (probably due to a very bad attempt to repaint the roof), and one small hole on drivers site floor - paint is fainted - body is really straight with all trim - comes with a trunk full of extra trim(never took it out, so I don't know if it is a complete set), some new door handles, second motor for head light covers I really enjoy driving this car and hate to let it go. It runs really smooth and never gave up on me. If you got any questions or want more pics just ask me. $2,300 negotiable |
Hey guys,
How come I get no replies? Is the price to high? I checked online for prices, but I found only one Magnum for about the same price and it was sitting on a scrap yard? That's why I thought the price would be reasonable. Any advice??? |

That's why I thought the price would be reasonable. Any advice??? anyone else?! The Magnum crowd is mostly budget limited and don't have the extra scratch. There are a lot of really nice Magnums out there for around same price or lower at this time. Two Magnums on eBay right now, one way to high(green)very low option car and one(white)with center console & t-tops. Just because they ask for $3000 does not mean they're going to get it? Note: the green Magnum, he wants $2,999 but, read the small print. He ads another $200+ to the final price for handling? lol I think shipping is going to be the biggest problem as many who would be interested are on the east side of the states. To bad someone cut up the door panals for speakers where they did, that's what would kill it for me. If they would have been cut in the lower part within the carpeted area they could have been fixed?! The seats, center arm rest and carpet can be redone. You should take some pics of the trim in the trunk, may make help to sell it? You have the rarer year, half as many 79's as there are 78's out there. That means better hood springs and more bugs worked out from the year before. The 1978-79 Magnum XE/GT! (Info) :) Bad time to sell, economy! Good luck! |
Also, add a picture of the data plate. located on the inner drivers
side fender under the hood. It will tell what options and colors the car came with. PM me here or at Moparfan and I'll decode the data plate for you if you'd like. |
I always liked the looks of the magnums and the 300 of the same body. Almost bought a 300 new. Bought a 79 TA 10 Aniversery instead. Girlfriend let her new boyfriend drive it and he totalled it. Left me with only the window sticker.

I think what kept me from buying the 300 at the time was that the only interior choice was red and I really dislike red. I did enjoy test driving one tho {:?)>
|
The three hundred was lighter, had more HP per ci and true dual exhaust.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Unfortunately I'm getting kinda desperate right now, because I'm leaving soon. Therefore, the price tag on it is now $1600. Need to have it gone ASAP. @ magnum GT: I'll take some more pictures... |
PM sent, Hope you get it.
|
@magnum GT: got it. will do...
I just checked for the data plate, but couldn't find it. Looks like they took it off to paint the car and never put it back. But thanks to your Magnum info link I can tell a bit more: the interior is code DL. and it's got the following options: G01, P01, P31, N88, H51, A36 VIN#: XS22J9R..... $1600 |
You need to advertise that this Magnum has a A36-Tow package!(Good option)
|
True, it has the tow package.
Thanks! |

Dude, I just logged in to this site. I hope you have gone to Europe and returned and still wish to sell this Magnum. I have not read all post but I'm hoping it's still for sale.

Have not seen any posts from german_mopar in a while now? Last time he posted he had moved back to Germany. The Magnum is still in the US, last I knew. PM him!
