65 Dodge Polara shift cable adjustment
Greetings!
We are working on a 65 Polara with the dual shift cable. What I am looking for is a little guidance on how to adjust the shift cables. It doesn't seem to be in the right gear and you have to wiggle the shift lever around a little to get it where it should be. Is there is way to center or index the cables to get it back on the right path?
Note- It has a column shifter not a floor shift.
Thank you for your help!

Been since the early 70's last time I touched one
Only advice I have is to bounce over to "MyMopar" and download one or more of the old service manuals
(I KNOW I saw this somewhere!!)
Also look through the service "Master Tech" stuff I believe there's one on that
General info page
http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=31
Service manuals -- the 65 Plymouth would be a good bet, and one or two of the Chrysler manuals
In the master tech stuff,
http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=117
I see two that might help, 62 and 64. Note that are pdf associated with these, and if you click on the video, then when the video loads, you can go right to the YouTube site where they are hosed.
If you use something like Firefox and "video downloader" plug in, you can save the vid to your 'puter

Also as a general note, you would do well to download some of the rest of these that are related. Notice that in 65 there is one called "65 Service Roundup" which covers a number of different service issues

Thank You!
Thank you very much for your fast and informative reply. I followed the links and found a service manual for a 65 Chrysler that showed me right what I needed to know. From what I have seen they only made the dual cable in 64 & 65 on the Polara, so info on it was hard to find. You put me on it pretty quickly.
Thank you again, I really appreciate your help!
