67 440 and 727 trans Chrysler Imperial

I have a chance to pick up a 440 and 727 auto trans out of a 67 Chrysler Imperial that has 67000 miles on it. Would this 440 and and 727 trans fit into my 68 Satellite which has a 273 small block 904 auto trans in it now. I realize that the motor mounts would have to be changed. Would there be any other major changes that would have to be done. ie. trans linkage.wire harness etc. Would appreciate any input, and help finding any of the parts I might need. Thanks Ken

Ken to answer part of your question.
The 727 is almost 4" longer than the 904, so drive shaft considerations there.

My 440 setup came from a 1973 Imperial and the only things that needed to be modified was the driveshaft, although i opted for a all new custom unit, the trans linkage because my Charger had the slapstick 904 and the wiring harness.

What made life simple was the MSD ignition which eliminated any possibility of wiring headaches and the new driveshaft. Getting the slapstick to work with the 727 was just a matter or making a new lower bracket to hold the ratcheting shaft in place.
