'67 GTX hemi....correct valve covers ?

Gents,

I'm building a 67 GTX model and want to make it as authentic as possble.
The kit came with chrome valve covers, but in researching, I've seen many
67 Hemis with black valve covers. Can someone help me and tell me which
ones are correct ?
Thanks in advance, I tried the search function first, but did not find my answer.

PS...many sweetlooking cars posted here !

That is a very good question. I know that the one thing the gtx cars had was chrome valve covers on big block engines. I would presume the same for a Hemi if the car had one but am not %100 sure on that. I know that most of the Hemis had black wrinkle paint or at least the ones I have seen.

A friend of mine has an original '68 Hemi Charger R/T, he ordered it while he was still in Vietnam, his has factory chrome covers with the round chrome air cleaner. His was an early production car, they probably used leftover parts from 67. GTX's did use chromes ones on the 440's also, I had a swap meet set on the 383 in my Charger.

Thank you both for your thoughts. Moparod's picture is exactly the combination ( air cleaner sticker & chrome valve covers ) included in the kit.
The cars with the black valve covers seem to have a smaller sticker on the air cleaner. As long as it's authentic, I'm OK with that.....Thanks again.
