70 Charger 500 dics brakes
 

I'm in the process of installing front disc brakes on the my 70 charger 500. I have two questions:

1- do I have enought clearance on my rims here. Theres about 1/8 - 3/16ths around the rim. It doesn't touch anywhere, but is it too close? (they're 14" rims)

2- do I need a split fork to remove the top arm (in picture) from the upper ball joint?
