72 Roadrunner Grabber Hood Question
I just picked up a 72 Satellite redone as a road runner clone. The car has a grabber hood on it, but im pretty sure its an aftermarket bonnet and scoop. What i dont have is any of the brackets, hardware, or anything. But i was told if i were to buy a kit, that it would not bolt right up...
So what should i do?? Buy a kit and fabricate?? Or does somebody make a kit for this aftermarket type application?? Thanx in advance

So do you think a factory style grabber kit will bolt up?? Or is there gonna be some heavy modification involved? The hoods from the cars you posted, dont seem to be far off from what ive got....i think lol.

72 Air Grabber
The pictures that 440roadrunner posted are from a 1970 air grabber. The 71-72 hood bracing is different, the hoods are very similar and can be converted. I have a 71 air grabber hood in storage that is disassembled for restoration I'll take some pictures and post them for you.

I know its been a long time since i originally posted this, but unfortunately my hood is still not done. Over the years ive learned a great deal more about these hoods and have accumulated most every peice needed to complete this half-*** attemp at someone elses poor satellite to air grabber hood conversion. But i could still use some help...
My main issue with this project is that the square hole cut into the hood itself is not nearly big enough (which is kind of a good thing at this point). I need information on how to correctly convert this flat satellite hood into and air grabber hood. Is there a template or diagram that exists that has specific measurents on where to cut the hole?
Does anyone have any pictures of their air grabber hoods bare (without the bonnets or underside componets attached)? please let me know.
thanx
