about 440magnum

Nice to meet you.
I’m a mopar fan living in Japan,
and looking for a chance to buy 1968 Charger base car.
(I don’t care it’s R/T or not)

Recently, I got a chance to buy 440 mugnum
which comes from 1970 Challenger (very cheep price!!)
But the seller doesn’t sure it is real magnum or not
and the engine is missing carbrator, intake, headcover.
So, please someone tell me the place of stump or icon
where I can identify the engine.

I’m going to see the engine in this sunday with my wife,
I can’t waiting for it !!

Best regards

Look for a casting date on the side of the block then on the pad next to the distributer behind the water pump there are letters stamped on top of the pad. The combination of the two will tell you what you have or at least what the block started out as.

67/69 440 was K
70/71 codes
T. 440
U 440 hi. Perf
V. 440 -6 Bbl.
This is what you are looking for on the pad
I hope it helps.
