I like to use use the single sided industrial razor blades with holder

Robert Weaver Sep 19, 2014 02:14 PM

I've got one of those too but I got to be careful not to dig into the block right? Can u use the Brass or Metal Brushes?

RacerHog Sep 19, 2014 04:37 PM

K cool. Would a brake cleaner & metal putty knife or razor blades work just fine?

RacerHog Sep 20, 2014 09:15 AM

Sure... Any gasket Scraper should be fine.... Just try not damage the gasket surface of the block.

Gasket remover spray is another option to help....

k cool. A friend mention that I should turn the motor over to bottom the pistons and clean the cyl walls with ATF. Should I only turn the motor by Hand or can I use a Remote trigger?

RacerHog Sep 20, 2014 09:32 AM

By hand is best.... With gear deducted starters the motor will spin allot more than you will want it too... lol

Oh ok, I didn't know if it would hurt the engine if I used a Trigger with the Heads Off. I hate to take the radiator and fan off again cuz there a pita. lol.

And if you use Zep 45 or WD40 as you are cleaning the surface it helps the pads last longer as it lubricates them and also helps them to clean better.. And flat raters are sure better than flat liners:laugh: And I have to say we spell the same too...I think sense is what you were trying to say/spell...Love ya bro...Bill

Say What...

moe7404 Sep 22, 2014 05:26 PM

millrights use a special scraper that has a little flex in the shank. and a carbide bit with a special grind. used it fit the milling machine ways. and used to put VERY small groves to hold oil. using this tool takes some skill. but it makes a great gasket scrapper to.

RacerHog Sep 22, 2014 07:30 PM

Id like to see that....:)
